Why did you choose Howard Kennedy for your training contract?

I have worked here as a Paralegal (since January 2018) so I already knew it was a great Firm with a good culture and supportive training environment. Plus I do not shy away from hard work but I think Howard Kennedy has a great work-life balance compared to other firms in the City.

Why did you choose to pursue a career in law?

Aged 8 my mum used to tell me I 'loved a good argument' so I fell into law that way.

Growing up in Bermuda and studying Marine Biology as my undergrad degree, really drove my desire to make a difference out there by improving and protecting the environment. My dream is to one day be an Environmental Lawyer and hopefully save the world!

Why did you choose Howard Kennedy for your training contract?

Howard Kennedy struck me as a forward looking and down to earth law firm where your personality is respected, as well as specialising in areas of law that I had an interest in.

What is your first impression of your seat?

The BREF express train is going full steam ahead... first impressions have been that BREF is a challenging seat that will require me to keep an eye on many quickly developing matters and complete any tasks with an increased sense of urgency. I have enjoyed being thrown in the deep end and given responsibility from the off. Many thanks to Erica and Hannah for helping me with my questions from day one.

Anna Cooke

Why did you choose Howard Kennedy for your training contract?

One of the main reasons I liked Howard Kennedy was because it is all based in our one office at No. 1 London Bridge. I have experienced first hand how this allows a greater ease of collaboration across different sectors, which in turn assists in developing a wider awareness of the different factors we need to consider when advising clients.

What advice/top tip would you give to trainees in the recruitment process?

Be authentic throughout your whole application and talk about things you have a genuine interest in rather things you think sound clever or that the firm wants you to talk about.

Rosie Morris

Why did you choose Howard Kennedy for your training contract?

The size and culture of the firm was really important for me.

What advice/top tip would you give to trainees in the recruitment process?

Don't rush your application, act confident at the assessment day (even if you aren't!) and practice speaking to a camera before video interviews.
