Hannah Place is a senior associate in the Banking & Real Estate Finance team, advising lenders and borrowers on a variety of real estate finance and banking transactions. 

Hannah is a solicitor advising across a broad range of finance transactions, including senior and mezzanine debt, investment and development funding, and corporate acquisitions. She acts for banks, institutional lenders, bridging lenders, and borrowers on club, syndicated and bilateral facilities. She acts on both domestic and cross-border transactions, particularly in respect of real estate investment and development financing.

Hannah initially qualified as an insolvency solicitor and has experience with non-contentious security enforcement, restructuring and insolvency transactions and advising on enforcement and recovery options in distress scenarios. She regularly works with the firm's Business Recovery and Reconstruction sector group.

  • Acted for a real estate investment company on a £25m refinancing of its mixed portfolio of student accommodation, commercial and leisure assets.
  • Acted for the agent and security agent, in respect of the refinancing of the flagship HSBC building in Jersey.
  • Acted for the senior lenders in a £60m senior multi-tranche development and investment facility, financing a mixed use residential, retail and leisure complex, which involved complex intercreditor and security structuring.
  • Acted on the financing of a large development site at Canary Wharf.
  • Acted for the London branch of a Bank on a £16m term facility made available to a BVI company, financing a portfolio of Central London commercial properties.
  • Acted for a property investment company to "on shore" a c. £40m portfolio of property assets across three jurisdictions, with debt finance provided by UK clearing banks.
